The new group named Easy Cure, after a song by first drummer Lol Tulhurst, who thought love a cure for all ills. Singer Robert Smith thought this bland: he wanted the group to be a more definite article, The Cure for problems.
Spinoff: The Glove. Playing small venues, they have adopted R.E.M.-style "coded" names such as Five Imaginary Boys, referencing their song Three Imaginary Boys. Tribute band: The Lovecats.
