Kings Of Leon: Three of the group are brothers and the name's an affectionate homage to their preacher father, Leon. The fourth group member's their cousin, and the name also pays tribute to their grandfather, who was also called Leon.
The siblings - Nathan, Caleb, and Jared Followill - spent their youth travelling around the American South with their father as he toured churches. When Matthew Followill joined the Tennessee band as lead guitarist, the brothers were already meshing rock, blues and country in music influenced by religion - Leon-style fire-and-brimstone preaching - and their southern upbringing.
