George Harrison: Overview
George Harrison: During the time fellow Silver Beatles/Beetles were called Johnny Silver and Paul Ramon, he was Carl Harrison – in honour of one of his heroes, Carl Perkins.
Harrison later adopted alter egos such as Son of Harry (with Dave Mason); Hari Georgeson (with Splinter and the Ravi Shankar Family); and George Harrysong (with Harry Nilsson).
Playing with Cream and Jack Bruce, he became L'Angelo Misterioso ("The Mysterious Angel"). He was dubbed "the quiet one", "the mystery Beatle", "the business Beatle" (because he once asked the accountants how much they were worth) and "dark horse" – later the title of a 1974 LP and record label. He set up Harrisongs for his compositions.
He joined The Traveling Wilburys in 1988, co-producing their first LP under the name Nelson and then renaming Spike Wilbury to do the same job on their next.
